Interior
What good are an SUVs stunning good looks and tire shredding performance if
the driver and passengers are not comfortable? The interior is almost
entirely black, from the dash, to the door panels, to the carpeting, to the
leather and suede seats; and all of this black is accented nicely by the
silver finished door pillars, the silver SS embroidery, the aluminum inlaid
T shaped shift handle, and the various subtle chrome inserts throughout the
new 2006 Trailblazer SS. The black dash, like several other items, matches
the new Corvette in style with its double hump style dash, which is a icon
of Chevrolet history. The gauge cluster has a performance look to the
gauges, with a large, clearly visible tachometer. The front seats are of a
race design, with suede centers and leather outer edges, and the sides
extend up enough to keep the driver and passenger snug as a bug during
stints of hard cornering. For those who wish to cut budget a bit when
buying the new SS, cloth seats are also available, but regardless of which
interior trim level is chosen, French stitching makes for a classy look on
the center armrest, which houses the center console under, and it is a fine
match for the sewn looking leather emergency brake handle, which has a nice
contrast with its chrome actuator button. As with all new Trailblazers, the
SS is available with a variety of state of the art sound systems, an
optional navigation package, and optional XM radio compatible feature; as
well as dual zone heating and air conditioning, cruise control, and power
door locks and windows.
