Exterior
While some of the exterior options of the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS have
been mentioned so far, the small air intake duct opening and the brake
cooling system scoops are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the
smooth sport styling, mixed with the typical rugged look that the
Trailblazer has been known for in past years. All of the Chevrolet models
that fly the SS badge are equipped with cutting edge performance ready
appearance to match the stiff performance numbers. The drop style
suspension, combined with the sporty front and rear fascia give the SS a
very low to the ground look, and the chrome-free front end, with the inlaid
flat black grille mesh gives the SS a race-ready look. The huge outwardly
mounted braking cooling duct openings are prominent on the front end, and
give the SS an unmistakable look. Along with the mid-mounted towing hitch,
the fascia has a slight lower hump to allow room for the throaty exhaust to
poke out with a stainless finished tip, also similar in appearance to the
new Corvette. Even though the SS still carries the factory towing hitch,
the factory roof rack has been scraped for weights sake, and the side
molding has gone with it to add to a sporty look. To smooth the overall
look of the vehicle the rear pillars are painted a gloss black to match the
darkly tinted rear and side windows; giving the back end a sort of all-glass
look; and the door handles, grille wrap, and external mirrors are painted to
match one of the four available body colors: black, white, silver, and blue.
