Well I decided that it was probably best for me to get my first 4x4. Knowing that I wanted a first gen S-10 style 4x4 blazer, I started looking. Here is what I found:

It's an 88, 2.8, Auto with OD, 4x4 for $400 Canadian. The guy said it needs a carb rebuild. So I plan on rebuilding the carb and see how it runs. I already know that not too many people like the 2.8. So I have lots of research to do and questions to ask. This will eventually be a dd with the ability to get me into those remote camping spots. So I will take it off road and what not, but nothing too extreme. (We'll see if that is still the case later) My plans are:

1. 2" or 3" body lift, not too sure. Probably just a 2" would be fine, any thoughts?
2. Once I do the BL, would like to put on some 31's. The front tires need to be replaced, so I would rather just go right away to 31's.
3. I have a sbc 350 sitting in my dads 71 van available. So I have been thinking about putting that in. It's currently on propane, but can easily swap to carb.

I believe this blazer has a 700R4 tranny. If so I would prefere to keep the OD when bolted to the 350. I think it would be pretty straight forward. So far I know that I would need a different oil pan, motor mounts. I think I might need a larger rad and maybe to use an electric fan. Any leads on where to look to get more information? Thanks
