I have a 98 Blazer 4X4 with the stock CD Head unit (pic attached).

I am looking for a way to be able to play my MP3 player through my stock radio. I have a FM transmitter (it sounds terrible), I am considering a FM wired modulator (but the sound quality is not much better), and I do not want to buy a new head unit because then I need an alarm as well (not the best neighborhood).

I came across this:ebay link

Is it possible to attach that, somehow fool the head unit into thinking there is a cassette or CD changer attached, and tap into the right/left inputs? Any feedback/suggestions??

Thanks.

sorry, theres really nothing you can do except get an aftermarket HU. think about it like this, your stock HU is worth about $300. and you can get a really decent aftermarket HU for the same price that will have aux in. so why not? some1 can just as easily gank your stock HU. its worth alot of money too.

Before you invest in the PIE piece, be sure it will work for your radio. Your radio needs a Metra 70-1858 wiring harness. The newer GM Vehicles need a Metra GMRC-01 Wiring harness. Be sure that the PIE adapter is set up to run off the 70-1858 Wiring harness style plug.
