I found a good K&N cai for my truck on the autozone website, and I figured I'd buy that one because I'm sick of waiting for parts to get shipped to me, and I just wanna go to the store and pick something up for a change. It's about $240. I wanted AEM, but the site doesn't show any. I'll ask if they have any in the store.

What kind of cold air intakes is everyone else running?

I have the Fram Boost Intake System

i got the K&N. none of the autoparts shops around here carried AEM.  thats what i wanted too but autozone, o'riellys and pepboys only carried K&N

i know you said your tired of waiting b/c of shipping, but eBay has them new for less. when i bought mine, it was $205 shipped but the seller has now raised his prices. now its $215 shipped.

the seller was MAW_PRODUCTS and i received the item about 4 days after paying

also, im not sure how much tax is where you live but here, on a $240 purchase after tax, its a little closer to $260...    enough to buy an AEM if thats what you really want

hope this helps!

Or just order the Fram intake system which is made by AEM and it includes tools to install it and a cleaner kit which AEM does not include. And the Fram kit is much cheaper.

Yeah, I'm gonna go by Autozone today and probably just see what they have/buy the intake. Tax should bring the price up to around $260 for me also. I think NY is 7%. I'll settle for K&N though because it seems a lot of Blazer drivers own that brand, so it must be good.

But yeah thanks for telling me about this guy selling them on ebay.

when i was buying mine, i read a lot about the framboost being really good but i couldnt find a model number anywhere

the link i was given was www.framboost.com but it just takes you to an amazon page which doesnt list the applications

i probably would have bought it simply b/c it has an AEM filter on it but i couldnt figure out which one i needed to buy

The site you want is www.fram.com, you can buy from them direct but it's just going to redirect you to amazon.com. I dont remember the model number to my kit, but I'll check and see if I still have the box to it and will let you know the model number.

Louder in a good way? I guess I'd like an intake that has some sort of sound to it. Maybe a louder sucking sound.
I went to autozone today and they said they don't have any K&N kits in.
I'm still not sure whether I should just order AEM online.

I once had a car that people kept telling me made that kind of sound. I don't think they meant it in a good way.

All aftermarket intakes will produce some form of sound or growl.  Probably the number one reason people get them.  As to whether the sound is good is debatable, but i'm sure you'll like it.

Definitely order an AEM kit online.  Seems like just about everything in this world these days turn out to be cheaper when you buy it online and/or Ebay and is worth the wait in most cases.  Heck, I buy girl scout cookies in small bulk from Ebay instead of those stupid little girls cuz its cheaper for me that way.

I don't have a CAI in my Blazer, but had one in my previous ride which was a Saturn sedan.  It had an AEM one when I traded it, but I had an ebay knockoff and a custom one in there prior to the AEM.  If I had a choice on one for the Blazer, I would make my own just to save money and I don't find it that difficult to make them.  If I had to choose a well known brand then AEM no questions asked.

definately AEM...

their website has these indepedent filtration tests to show which filters are more efficient and AEM blew them(competitors) away

That's what I want. One that growls. What brand would be best for a growl?
Fram, K&N or AEM?
I know my friend put a AEM in his Dodge pickup and it makes a growl.

the only one i have heard is my K&N but im sure they all sound similar. put a new muffler on if you want a nice growl

Yeah, I'm still debating on which type of Flowmaster. 40 or 50 series. I'd put a glasspack on it, but I live in the suburbs and the cops wouldn't like that too much.

theres always MAGNAFLOW  <= thats my truck

My friend put a Magniflow on his Dodge pickup, along with the AEM intake, and my brother said it growls but I've never heard it for myself since he's been away at college. But I don't want an exhaust that has that high pitched kinda ricer sound to it. I want a good deep toned growl without having to take my cat out. I know 40 series is pretty deep.

the 40's sound good.  someone posted a link to the FM super44 "offroad" verison...  it has a diamond-plate casing around the muffler.

im sure it helps protect the muffler especially since ours are pretty exposed from underneath

I made that video today of my exhaust. I made a few yesterday from different angles.
On putfile it has bad sound quality, but when I open it on my winamp it sounds better.
When I put my intake in I'll do another video. I'm looking at intakes right now on their site.
