Hi I have a 95 4.3 Liter vortec blazer LT. It was running kind of sluggish and when i would be driving and the RPMs are around 2000 the needle would start going up and down and it feels like the car was trying to go but wouldnt. Also when idling or when pushing on the gas blue smoke would come out the exhaust but only sometimes not always. A couple days later my check engine light came on so i took it the mechanic who hooked it up to the computer and it came up as the AGR valve that set off the check engine light. Does anyone think that this is the problem because I dont want to replace it and then it is something else and also would it be easy to replace this part? would I be able to do it myself? And what is the purpose of the AGR valve?
Thanks in advance

Well...I highly doubt they found an Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor (although that would solve the gas price problem) on your blazer, so they're probably talking about the EGR valve, for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. That may be tripping the code, and you may just have to clean it..but I'm not sure of the test procedure.
However I thought that blue smoke was burning oil..which may still be causing an EGR issue..
Did you get the exact code number? (P_ _ _ _)

Search my friend! LOL It has been discussed quite a bit and there even is a
