I have to remove the air bag to access the horn of my 1997 Blazer 4.3 2Dr 4Wd. When in the locked position, a slight rotation of the steering wheel sets off the horn. Inserting the key and releasing the steering wheel lock will shut it off or a sharp wrap on the horn usually stops it also.
Directions from AutoZone did not work. They said to rotate the steering wheel 90 degrees and push tab in with a screwdriver to release the air bag. I found what appears to be small access holes on each side of a star drive screw. Pushing the screwdriver in the slot accomplished nothing.
What is the proper procedure for removing the air bag?
