Try doing a search on what you are looking for within the forum. This topic has been discussed many times and you wil find information for and against K&N and similar.

K&N Air Filters are a good choice for drop in replacements with a noticable increase of between 2-7 HP depending on the vehicle. They are about $50 a pop, but they are reusable so this offsets the cost. Care must be taken when 'recharging' it, as too much oil on the filter or oil on the wrong side will lead to MAF sensor failures.
An even better solution is a K&N cold air intake kit. These will run you a little bit more between $130 and $200. Expect 5-10 HP increase.
Stay away from 'Electric Superchargers', Thats just cleaver advertising to make a quick buck selling rubber dog crap on eBay. On a related note, the Tornado does dick for performance and has been proven to actually reduce HP.
