We have a 2003 Blazer, 4wd. I just recently started making a noise from the front end that gets louder the faster you go and will also get louder in 4wd. I was thinking it might just be a wheel bearing, but with wheel bearings they usually will get quiet when the wheel is turned and this does not. I pulled both front wheels shook the wheels to see if there was any play in them and also to see if either one made any noise when I spun the wheels, but both seemed fine. I was thinking it might be bad tires, but I was wondering if there are any issues with the transfer case on these vehicles or something strange that happens to everyone that I am not aware of.

Maybe its a shaft issue, that would be my educated guess on this one. I know others will bump on in with better suggestions!!

i have a 2000 LS 4x4 and i have a similar noise coming from the support bearing in the right side of the front diff. it is a pain to change but i work in a shop and have changed 2-4 of these and the noise goes away. i would take it to a shop and have them further diagnose it.
