In process of bringing a 84 K5 ex-military blazer back from the dead. Had one as my first vehicle when i was 16 and it's time for me to return to my roots. Hopefully be able to brush up on my knowledge on these bad boys and get mine back on the road and have a little fun with it.
I live in Dallas, TX i work for a company called Forced Performance we repair/manufacture turbochargers and in my off time i work on my Eagle Talon TSI AWD. Which is the reason i want to rebuild this truck so that i can have something to tow my car around with when i break it.

nice And Welcome!
Pics!
Not yet it's at my dads in Louisiana, i'm taking a week off work to go down there and do the work. I'm going to document it as much as possible right now it's just a roller no front clip, engine, tranny, or interior. He has one my brother wrecked out there with all the parts i need so i'm basically going to rape the wrecked one to make the dead one alive again. It's going to be ugly but with the 6.7L diesel it should be pretty reliable.

Yes, definitely welcome. I wish I had some money when the army depot near me auctioned off all of their trucks quite a few years ago. They had a few MINT mid 80s K5 Blazers that were lifted pretty good with the 6.7L diesel.
And yeah, PICS NEEDED!!! LOL

Going down there to figure out what all needs to be done and figure out what parts I need to buy. Part of the reason why i joined up here in hopes to find some parts, going to be hitting the local junk yard looking for full interiors since the Army blazers are completely void of anything that resembles luxury. Most of the truck is primer right now but the front end is going to be black (i think might be camo) so it's going to be a little miss matched but ooh well.
Anybody got any good resources on where to find parts and such for this chassis in particular? Also probably going to put a moderate lift on it with some nice wheels and tires after i get it painted any good links/resources for doing the lift?
I'll get you guys some pictures after my return this weekend and of course when i do the build up i'm going to document it as much as possible, thanks for the warm welcome guys.

welcome to the site. I as well can't wait to see pics of progress, and I agree with the camo thing, as I'm a little farm boy.

Ok as promised here are the pictures of the torture i'm about to put myself through.
I'm going to use this.
and parts from this.
To make something like this.
It's going to be along painful process but i remember how much fun my old one was so i figure why the hell not.
I tried to talk my dad into lett me build this.
But he wouldn't let me.
This is what i'm driving as a daily now.

Looks great! Keep us up on the progress. Man I wish I could find a junkyard with stuff like that in it near me. Any of the ones around me that have stuff like that can not sell the vehicles as a whole. Which completely sucks!

Well believe it or not this isn't a junk yard this is actually my dad's own private stash. He bought a bunch of these from the DRMO sell on Ft. Polk a long time ago. He probably has enough out there to build 3 or 4 of these just doesn't have time. I wish he would let me put the Hum-V back together and use it instead but he's not ready to let that go yet.

Hahah thanks he's fine, he has a knack of totally destroying vehicles and coming out ok. After looking at the damage yesterday we're pretty sure the Tranny casing is probably destroyed.

Should be going to paint sometime next month i'm going to be painting it a dark green basically the same color as my talon. Then after that i'm going to have the interior floor rhino lines or Line-x whichever one i can get the best deal on. Then it'll be on to getting all the driveline bits and pieces situated and start working on that.
