Just wanted to say hi and give my story. I purchased my 2004 Blazer used on 03/01/05. It had 16,764 miles on it when I got it and I now have a little over 33,300 miles. So far it has been an awesome truck and I don't really have any complaints. I had to take it in for dealer service a couple of times, once becasue the thermostat went bad and once for the service engine light, they didn't find anything wrong with it. I have already flushed out the front and rear diffs replacing the factory gear oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube and the tranny and t. case replacing the factory fluid with Mobil 1 Synthetic tranny fluid. I also use Mobil 1 5w30 Sythetic oil and Mobil 1 Oil Filters, and I have been changing the oil every 3000 miles but I think I am going to go 5000 now. While I was at it I also flushed out that factory dex coolant and replaced it with Peak Global Extended Life. As you can see I believe in Mobil 1 products and I plan on having my Blazer for a long time. I believe in Mobil 1 products so much that I purchased a Mobil 1 Factory Fill decal and oil cap for under the hood. Thought I would have a little fun with that. As far as mods go I haven't done to much. The only thing i've done is had a local shop weld up a flowmaster 40 series in place of the stock muffler. I left the tailpipe stock. I really like the way that it sounds. I also added vent visors and removed the pinstriping. Although I wish I would have got the visors that go inside the window instead of taping to the outside. I already had to take two of them off and re-tape them. I haven't had any problems since I did that. Well I look foward to chatting with folks and learning some more about Blazers. I also posted pics in the gallery so check them out. See ya...

I do get kind of a whining noise under acceleration. I had the dealer look at that and they said it was the serp belt tensioner. I say it sounds like it comes from the tranny or t. case, or that area anyway. Either way they replaced the serp belt and the tensioner, and I still get that noise. Obviously that wasn't the problem. They said that their tranny guy was the one that looks at it. Anyone know if that is a common thing among Blazers? Everything seems to run fine and shift fine, but it concerns me. Of course the wife thinks I am just anal about my truck.

Nice ride and photos. How do the FM 40 sound? Doesn't wake the neighbors does it? I'd like to add some exhaust to my '99 when I have the time.

I really like the way it sounds. You can hear it inside the house but it's not to loud. It sounds a lot better now that it is broken in a little bit. It's been about 10,000 miles since I got it put on. I also like the fact that while I can hear it inside the truck it's not to loud. I didn't want it to be to loud as I have a 3 year old that sits in the back. I would recommend it to anyone. I got mine off of ebay for $58 and some guys I know at carX welded it up for $45. Not a bad deal if you ask me. They had me get it with the in and out tips a little larger then the stock pipes. If I remember the stock pipe is 2.25 and they had me buy the 40 series that was 2.50.
