OK, so I thought I'd ask everyone's opinions, now that it is BBQ season again.
Last night I went out and bought a sweet T-bone and a top sirloin steak for dinner.
My girlfriend is super-picky about her steaks, and I am kind of getting sick of trying to find a good cut of meat without having to pay an arm and a leg. I got the T-bone for about $9.00, which was pretty decent, but it really isn't big enough for two people.
What does everyone else like for steaks? We generally buy grilling steaks that don't have to be marinated at all, so what do you guys like in that category?
I find the top sirlion can be too tough, and my girlfriend doesn't like the fat in the T-bone (I told you she was picky!). I personally could eat the T-bone everytime, but that won't happen, I'm sure.
So...opinions! I need to grill some meat!!!!!

Ya, I'm not a big fan of deer steaks...I find it too dry. My brother makes some sweet deer pepperettes...those are awesome.

I know that buffalo steaks are very good as well. They are very lean. We did a buffalo roast the other week. Marinated it with French Salad dressing overnight then spun it on the bbq at low heat for about 3-4 hours. You could cut the meat with your fork it was that tender...

Yes, my girlfriend has had buffalo. I've heard it's very good. I'm not sure where to get it though.

I had emu burgers once. They too are very lean and don't taste very gamey.

ostrich(sp?) steaks/burgers are probably one of the best meats I have had, hard to find and a little pricey. as for beef I would say the best cut would be a center cut chuckeye, good luck finding these in ANY store that you go to, these are usually taken by the butchers to eat themselves. You might get lucky and go into an actual butcher shop and ask them for one but you surely won't find one underneath the glass at your local foodmart

Chuckeye, eh? I will have to ask my mom about those. She worked at a shop YEARS ago, so she'd be able to let me know where I could find some.

Try the deer steak again, but don't grill them. Cook them up in some gravy in a skillet. Add some mushrooms and unions. OOOO! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. If you don't like gravy try soaking them in some Rose wine for a few hours and then Broil them.

Luckily, I just talked to my bro-in-law. His mom is going to save some for us from her cows when they go for slaughter. I can't wait to see if they live up to your accolades.

The only steak I've ever had meat-wise is beef. I usually stick to cow, I'm not a big game kinda guy. I've had deer sausage but I stick to cow for my steaks.
I've gotten attached to ribeyes lately. We got some big ones this weekend, sprinkled some seasoning on 'em, and threw 'em on the grill. *Drool*
