Not sure how many of you guys know Myclone from SyTy.net. He was a close friend of our Syclone/Typhoon community and was killed on Monday afternoon while working on his 1 ton crew cab dually tow rig. He was under the truck working on the transmission when he hit the out of park and it slipped of the jack. His wife found him later that day when she returned home from work. She is really having a tough time with this and the support from our community helps out. We are all just car fanatics in the end... mainly s-series but car fanatics no less. lol

He had been a member of the SyTy community for years and helped many many people whenever he could. He was the king of making a truck go fast without spending much money at all. He helped me personally by posting how to prep my Typhoon for paint. Without him I don't know if I would have attempted to start sanding my cladding.

Here is the thread where his wife posted the news

Here is a donation thread to help raise money to help pay for his funeral and other related expenses.

Its times like these that make you think about the little things in life. Guys, ALWAYS use jackstands when you are under your truck. It only takes one time to mess up and it could have been any one of us.
The smallest decisions can affect our lives and everyone around us more than we could ever imagine.

Anyway, thats all. Just thought Id share this with you guys.
Seriously. Be CAREFUL.

RIP Myclone

My best wishes go out to her and her family.
Its sad to see that something like this happens.
Could had been avoided by using wheel chucks.
These things happen when people get too confortable working on things and figure it will never happen to me.

Always use wheel chocks and the parking brake...ugh!  I'm sorry for the loss that could have been prevented.  Also, NEVER work alone under a vehicle!!!

I almost lost a friend of mine to the same ordeal, thankfully I was right there and pushed the car off of him.  Afterwards, I asked him, "dude, what did you think was going to happen after you took the car out of gear with nothing behind the wheel???"  I hope this is a wake-up call to all of us who think we're invencible under a car alone.  My thoughts go out to the family for sure, PLEASE be careful out there!

I wish there were words that would even make everyone who knew him feel even slightly better but there arent. I truly am sorry for your loss as well as Lisa.

Always a real shame when accidents happen to really good people

So sorry to hear about such a tragedy.  My sincere condolences to family and friends.

A similar incident took the life of a former landlord of mine and I've had close calls myself. I had a single jackstand under one side of the frame while changing a starter motor and someone clipped my rear bumper, knocking the car off the stand. Fortunately the wheels were still on the car.

Same incident killed my buddys dad, his 55 fell on him.

My condolences to his family.

Chocks and jackstands are a must all the time when a jack is under the car.

Thats so tragic.
That is one of my fears when working under my trucks. I am pretty anal about safety.
