Just casting around for an idea to start a new off topic thread, and my mind settled on boats.

Well i dont have any boats anymore (not really worth it in phoenix beause there is one lake and its $11 for one person to get in with a boat and $3 for passengers), but i grew up on a lake and I've had countless numbers of boats. Heck i even worked for a company that made houseboats and serviced all kinds of boats. Lets see, what have we owned.......flatbottom hunting boat with a 75HP Mercury outboard, Bayliner 15' capri with a Ford 2.4L I-4 and OMC outdrive, Larson 19' Delta Cutter with Mercury V-4 (not sure what the engine was displacement wise or what it was based off of but the cylinders were massive and it made 240hp), had more than a couple sun dancer party barges with engines ranging from a Johnson 40HP to one my cousin Mike put a Honda 200HP motor on (just for giggles), random airboat that never worked, and other odds and ends loaner boats that we borrowed from the service center.

One of my favorite borrowed boats i got to drive was a houseboat that we had just serviced. It was a 80' Skipperliner (thats the company i worked for btw) with twin Mercury 454's with multiport injection. Ever seen a house boat do 70 across a lake, LOL. The thing was nice on the inside too, i think it had 4 bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, the works.

LOL I got a little john boat for puttering around in the pond. Not exactly watercraft, by any stretch of imagination. Just something that floats, LOL. But it's black and it has flames on it, which is pretty cool.

I don't have one yet personally, but my family has 2 boats. Ones a 1999 205 Sundowner with a 5.0L Volvo Penta engine (can't remember the horsepower #) and then a little 14' fishing boat with 9hp Johnson motor. We used to have a ODay 22 (22 foot cabin sailboat, then wanted something with more power and faster).

I personally would like a little 14-16' fishing/crusing bowrider boat something that is between 40 and 120hp depending on if its a john fishing boat or a little runabout ski boat. And maybe a canoe but there are expensive for what you get, i think i would use a fishing boat or ski boat more than a canoe.

It was good for a laugh.  Could you imagine though?  If they were buoyant with that size engine, talk about power to weight ratio!!!
