I have had 2 10" Rockford Fosgate He2 Subs in a custom AERO ported box. If you want stupid loud, I reccomend aero ports. With 2 10''s and a 500rms Kenwood amp, I got a Db reading of 142.7

I also have made a slot port box and didnt like it as much as my aero ported box. The sound was a little more rough.

I had 2 aero ports on the back of the box right behind the magnet of the subs. You''ll need ( depending on the size) somthing to cut a round hole to fit them in. Mine were in two pieces so I cut the hole, screwed the opening in, and with the subs out, attached the other half. Some people glue them together, but are hard to get apart afterwards. I just used duct tape. It holds them together with no rattles and if you decide to take them out and use them in another box you can do so.

It was really just a squae box. Ill send you an email with the picture of the car it was in, then maybe you could some how figure out the measurements.

I believe there''s a bit more to designing a ported box than just making a square and cutting some openings in it...and I''m not familiar with all these technical terms...so what exactly is ''stupid loud''?

And remember people run entire businesses off box design...I wouldn''t count on someone just ''drawing up a sketch'' for you..

haha yea i hear yah ik its alot more complex than stated above. this isnt my first box i built i just want some ideas i pretty much know what im doing i think im just gonna go with f.i dimensions off thier website then just add like 6-8 inches to the bottom of it for an amp drawer i just want to know now whats the different in the two kind of ports and how the aeros get tuned

Here is what I had for 1 15" BL 1st gen blazer.  External dimensions 37.25" wide, 17" deep, 16.25" high, 3/4" MDF with a double baffle flush mount, 2 4" PSP ports 14" long.  So internal dimensions were 35.75x14x15.5 then minus sub and port discplacements.  Sounded good to me.  Info on how to determine port length here.

For me, with the two ten inch subs stupid loud was 142.7 Dbs. You really could not sit in the car without ear plugs it was just way too loud. And I mean thats pretty damn good considering: 1 amp, no dynamat, 4 gauge wiring, and the car was off during the competition running straight from a stock battery.

I made the box custom with specs for the subs, I didnt just make a square box with two ports in it.

I sort of did something like that.  Read this maybe?  Yes the box I built was about 4 cubes which is on the larger end.  Have you built a box before?

yea ive built a few boxes just not with aero ports i looked at that psp website for those ports and i only saw 4x17 what did you do cut them down a little bit? i actually read your post there a while back. and what do you mean by internal dimensions? is that from the inside edge of the wood?

forgot to ask whats involved in a double baffel flush mount is it just 2 pieces of wood just ones different size for it to sink in?

Yes the ports come at 17" long, the main tube can be easily cut with a dremel or whatever.  Basically the internal dimensions is what you use to calculate the air space.  So your max width is 38" - (0.75 + 0.75) = 36.5", assuming 3/4" MDF as I wouldn''t use anything less.  I could figure out the depth and height, but I don''t know since you want the drawer underneath it.  For the double baffle it is basically 2 layers of MDF.  The first layer has the sub Cut ID: 14.125”, and then the top layer is Sub OD: 15.625” hole size.  That allows the cub to sit down flush.  You don''t need to do that though, but it looks pretty ;)

ok so the ports are pretty simple can you just tell me the dimensions of your box that would make it easier because im pretty much going for the same thing. yea i like the look of the double baffle too so i think im gonna give it a try also on the amp drawer could i just make the walls of the box like 6 inches longer and put a seperate slot connected right to the sub box like build the box to the dimensions then just cut like 6 inches extra the bottom and put the floor in where it should be and then put the drawer where the other 6 inches are if that makes sence to you?

Sort of follow you.  I wouldn''t put the amp in a completely sealed area though.  That''s why I installed the fans.  Any reason why you don''t want it on the box or something?

well right now i have my amps on a little flap thing behind the seats (comes factory on my year) and i dont like the way it looks like cleanlyness and ive actually split a wire folding my seat back up once so i want to move them from there and i dont really want them on the box either cuz of the cleanlyness reason again i just think the drawer is the cleanest most efficient way and yea i was planning on putting in 2 cooling fansand maybe some breathing holes hidden somewhere
