Brake problems

I've seen posts about this problem but i could use some additional help. My pads on the rear of my 2000  are wearing on the inside only. When u lube up the calipers is there a certain kind you should use? Also how can you tell if the brake line is bad? One more question, has anyone ever had a prob with the pads not fitting in right ? I actually had to grind them down some to get them to fit in properly.

I don't know why you would have to grind the pads to install?
Was that the metal or the friction part?
Make sure and lube the calipers slide pins. I use silicone dielectric because it is a grease that won't harm the rubber.

Just make sure that the grease you use is also high temperature.  Things get VERY hot in and around the caliper.  I use a silicone based high temp caliper grease for the slider pins.

Frozen slider pins would be my guess as to the inner pad wearing out faster than the outer.  And if you have to grind them, something is wrong!  Make sure that you have your caliper piston fully retracted into the main body of the caliper (use a c-clamp on our rear calipers that don't have the integrated parking brake).  Also, you have to make absolutely sure that the pins are moving freely.

We had to grind the metal parts where the pads slide in becasuse they were tooled wrong or something.
