Ok, so a few weeks ago I was in a bad car wreck. I was going to work early in the am, still dark, and hit a horse!! I was driving a minivan. I don't remember anything expect wking up in the ER. I was told the horse, all 1200 lbs, cam through the windshield and hit me in the head... My jaw, and right side of my face were smashed... Long story short, I'm put of the hospital, insurance paid me for my van, and I started looking for a new vehicle. I first looked at S-10 trucks, but started seeing more blazers in my price range. I looked at a few, all with fairly high mileage, but that was ok with me; plus I don't have that much to spend (Ive been off work for a while now due to the accident). Anyway, I made some folks an offer today on a 98 4dr 4x4. It has 150k on the 4.3L. They are the second owners, and have had it for over 6 years. They lived in a small town about 50-70 miles away from here, where they worked, so they said that's where the mileage came from. It is fully loaded with everything. It has a tow hitch under the bumper, but they said they've never used it to tow anything. Has a very minor oil leak, I think it's just the hoses though. She wanted $4500, he went down to $3900, and I offered up $3700. Supposed to pick it up tomorrow. It really looks like it's in good shape, and it ran and drove nicely. So, here I am, new to the forum. I'll be researching a few things I'd like to do to it; lower, possible body kit, stereo... I like to make my vehicke mine. My wife has a WRX, and she never lets me drive it, but she likes the blazer enough that she said if I let her drive it, I can drive her WRX...

Hope that wasn't too long winded... Look forward to learning from those of you willing to share!!

Welcome to the Blazer Forum.
Sorry you had to come to us by "accident" I had an accident myself and with the time I had off I found this site and I've been hooked ever since.
You better not fix the Blazer up to much or you'll be stuck driving the WRX.

You'll love your Blazer, I'm sure. That's why we are all in here!

Thanks everyone. Not sure why the horse was in the road, but from what I understand there were several. I live just outside of town, and some A-hole didn't have his horses locked up properly. It was kiled. It peeled the roof off my van like a can of sardines...

I have to wait until tomorrow to pick up the balzer though. I deposited the insurance check on Saturday, and the bank said the funds are not available until tomorrow. So, one more day of waiting. Oh well, I'm really not supposed to be doing any driving right now anyway. Gotta heal up just a bit more.

I guess I never really intoduced myself... I live in Kansas, fun fun, spend a lot of time riding and modding my bike; an 06 Honda Shadow Aero. Been off work for a few weeks since my wreck, and trying to decide when I'm going back... If I could do more I'd take my sweet time, but the way it is I just sit around and can't do much. I'd rather get back to work, and sit around and get paid I'm super excited to pick up my first balzer tomorrow, and look forward to changing it up a bit. I think I'll start with rims, and go from there. Any other folks from Kansas around here???
