'97 S10 Blazer w/ automatic trans - When the key is in the ignition it works fine to start the car, but at intermittent times, when turning the engine off and trying to remove the key, the key won't turn past the accessory postion.  So the key is just stuck.  I'm guessing this may have something to do with the linkage from the gear selector on the tranny but I don't know where to start, any ideas?  By the way, we replaced the ignition switch and it seemed to be better but it has now returned.

Thanks

You must mean the "On" position... Accessory is one notch back from off...

Try lifting the transmission lever so it's not resting on the park peg, but still in park, see if that helps...

No, I mean that Acc position.  I'll try what you're suggesting though, thanks.

Well the closest information I have found indicates that you check the FUSE #Trans24 for battery voltage and indicates that if no voltage then one possible cause would be Ignition Switch...but it also indicates a wire from the fuse to the trans may have a short causing a code to be set in the computer which would help you get closer to the problem...but that circuit is #1020 in a wiring diagram from the dealer or Service Manual for the Electronics in the truck....
