Take out all your interior, except for guages and drivers seat... You'll accelerate better and have a better power to weight ratio.

Nothing's really cheap, it all depends on how much you want to gain, too.

Air filter, or cold air intake, a good exhaust system, those are the basic start points...

I hope by "Vortec" you mean that's the engine itself, and NOT one of those useless fuel saver things...

Yeah its the engine my bad i thought it was part of the intake b/c when i changed mt air filter i had to remove the covering
what is a good cold air intake to get?

If you search the site you'll find some good suggestions... I don't know off the top of my head, as I haven't been shopping for one just yet.

Unless your getting a TRUE cold air intake, then don't bother. A TRUE c.a.i. will have it's own sealed off from the heat of the engine compartment box to draw in actual cold air. Volant, and Injen's tuned box with c.a.i. are good ones to start looking at. You need air, spark, and exhaust to make h.p., so don't think that adding a c.a.i. is gonna make a noticeable increase in hp all by itself.

unless your planning on doing major engine mods.....its not worth the money. Use the saved cash to buy a vehicle meant for speed.

Blazinloud just posted and made the most sense of any I've read lately. Blazin' saying that will PO people, like the guy who wants to know how he can run 12-1 compression. The engine needs more than hundreds and hundreds of dollars to make ANY power.

well you can start with a new air filter i got a K&N, they can be bought at parts america or pep boys they are univeral fit. After that you can get a new exhaust system that will set you back a couple hundred of bucks for a good one, I 2.25" pipes going into a glaspack, loud as hell, but it rumbbles, you can get those at any good muffler shop. they will increase you HP a little but nothing hugh for that your going to need major work or invest in EDGE products. oh yea and hope you have gass money for the Huge HP you wanna add.

well, you can save up and get a nitrous kit thats probably going to be your best bang for your buck, and the newer systems have plenty of saftey features to keep you from blowing your engine up

Well, the msd ignition put a little pep in my engine, not much though, throttle body spacer adds noticeable gas mileage but not speed, im about to get a cheap air intake without the heat shield though, I want it more for the sound heh.... and of course don't forget exhaust.

75 shot of nitrous, cut-out before cat-'s, UD pullies, intake, traction bars, gears, stall, tuning.

How much would it cost to get a nitrous kit installed at a shop?
