Hi I have 2 10'' kicker comp-vx and they are rated at 600 watts rms each. They are 4 ohm subs. Now i need to buy an amp and I am looking at the mtx ta7801 because it is rated 1200 watts rms but at 1 ohm. Is this going to be good enough or do I have to look at the 4 ohm rating of the amp? Help please thanks in advance.

you will have to look for an amp that does its power at 2 ohms.

O really so an amp that is rated 1200 watts at 1 ohm is not powerful enough? does anyone know or recommend any amps?

Are they Single voice coil or Dual voice coil. I dont recall kicker making a SVC CVX...Im guessing they are Dual 4ohm subs. This means you can wire them to the amp at either a 1 or 4 ohm load...So if they are indeed dual 4 ohm subs, then that amp you are reffering to will work just fine...

they are dual voice coil so if they will work at 1 ohm then how do i have to wire them?

You will have to wire them in parallel, which is running all of your positive's together and negatives together....give me a sec and ill find you a digram that will explain it much better than words can...

so basically you put the postive of both your subs into one postive of your amp and both of your negative from the two subs into one negative on your amp?

ok but if there is two positives on the amp and two negatives on the amp which spot do you put them into? do you put the negative ones on one side of the two and the positive on the other side of the two? and does it matter which side?

On a monoblock(single channel) amp it does not matter, they all go to the same internal hook-up. The extra + and - are simply there for convenience...
