93 Blazers were ever made without air conditioning.  I like a clean look under the hood and in this old dinosaur's opinion the AC compressor with its hoses and the big hump on the firewall are just ugly.  I'd like to remove the thing but keep the heater.

i think majority of 93's came w/ a/c so i dont think theres any out there w/ out it. i'm not sure if the heater and a/c r connected in the blower or not so if u remove it u could prolly just get a heater and put it in.

A/C was standard, but it was optional for A/C delete.  The trick will be finding one without it...

Here is the belt routing with and without A/C:

Looks like the routing is the same, but it has an idler pulley in place of the compressor.  The next thing would be to find a heater only HVAC housing and hope that there wasn't a difference in the firewall opening.

BTW, nice work on that convertible 4dr Chevelle!

No major difference in the mounting of the heater only box. Its pretty common for guys stuffing V8s in s-series to delete the AC but the old heater only boxes are getting harder to find and more costly when you do.

Man, I thought I was OLD SCHOOL but NO A/C. Not me I'm spoiled. Really the A/C doesn't look that bad IMHO.

Oh course it might have something to do with where I live. Summers here get into the 100s, with temps at the river 120+ degrees. That is 6 months out of the year. Today 79 degrees, the river was mid 80s.

Thanks for the information, everyone.

4X4, that 100 degree dry Arizona air is just about right for an old dinosaur.  Pheonix in August can be a little warm though.

swartkk, thanks for the belt routing diagram.

A friend that owns a junkyard said I might have more luck finding a heater only box from an S10 pickup.  He didn't recall having ever seen a Blazer without air.

The heater boxes I got were off S10's, I also couldn't find one on a blazer without A/C.  Make sure to get the blower motor for it as well.  Are you going to replace the controls inside the cab as well?  Here are some pics of when I removed mine.

Thanks for the pics and info, Jason.  Too bad I didn't  have a heater only box when I replaced  the fenders.
