I have a 1974 K5 350 V8. I had my motor rebuilt at a local shop here in San Antonio and have been in the processes of putting everything back together on the weekends. Finally got it done last weekend. I have a new optima yellow top, new 140 amp alternator and starter…. everything on the motor is brand new. Last weekend the starter turned the motor a few times but then just stopped and nothing happened when I turned the key, since it was a new rebuilt starter I took it back to auto zone thinking that was the problem. Installed the new one today and same thing happened….motor turned over and even almost ran twice…but now nothing happens when I turn the key. I’m almost positive that the wiring is all done right….I marked all the wiring locations before I pulled the old motor and made sure I hooked it all up the same. I even swapped the battery out of my 79 blazer which is about 6months old and still nothing. Any thoughts would be great!
