Ok, have looked at a couple different sites to find out what year my SB 350 is. Both sites have conflicting information as to what the last letters are to mean. Code is V0424FS8. I know that means it was made in Flint on April 24th. Now for the FS8.... found a site that has lots of F's but no S8 to follow. I know for sure it says fs8. Can anyone help me? This code was found at the front passenger side of the block on the smooth ledge. It is stamped, not raised. I have looked at MorTec, Inc (which tell me the last letters don't mean what year) and also nastyz28.com chevy suffix stamping codes.

I think I got as far as I can. There is an H27 on the back of the block. I believe that means August 2nd or 12th or 22nd of 77 or 87. I'm going with '87. Close enough I suppose! thanks
