Itll help draw attention to you and your buddies.  I didnt put one on any of my cars till they were over 400 hp. You wont benifit from anything by putting it on a stock or slightly modified engine.

Well it would be bypassing all the fuller and cat which means more air flow and less restriction, wouldnt this make for better performance?

I dont think it will gain you anything, I am not sure but I dont think you are making the power to benifit from a device like that, and if you are going to do one, do an electric cut out, those cables dont last all the time and the cut outs are cast iron not exhaust tubing.

So all the cut out does is make it louder unless you have quite a bit more power? Well...sounds like a good deal for a less than a hundred bucks. Any ideas where to get a fairly cheap electric one? I've found a few, but any more would be nice.

no it will not gain you any performance siinge as how the cutout you linked us to is only 2" in/out so your restricting your exhaust where ever you mount it.

unless you run 2 of them, one comming of each bank of the y pipe

You'll lose alot of bottom end when you have no backpressure on that stock motor.  I think you'd be better off doing a cat-back exhaust.

I've got a cat-back exhaust on mine, but I'm just wondering if I stuck it after the cat, if it would make any difference. Would it just be louder? I don't know much, trying to learn.

Pretty much it would just be louder... if you had a forced induction setup it would make a very large difference... It's definitely useless for driving around, other than for more noise, lol.

There's not really enough displacement and air movement in the stock 4.3 to take advantage of it... Plus, very few V6s sound good without a muffler on 'em, lol

If you put it right before the muffler, it might still sound good, but a manifold dump, is going to sound.... bad, very bad, with anything less than a V8, lol
