how to replace the engine fan. i got a used one and it took 30 seconds for them to get it off. is it the same to put it on.they used a special tool do i have to buy bot one or what?

and do i have to put the gard back on to make it run good?

Talk about coincidence... I just came in to ask that same question. I just got an electric fan and I'm not sure how to take the old fan off.

I believe there are a few post on here that talk about the fans removal. If I recall you either need to get the special fan tool or you have to make it out of steel yourself. If you don't have a welder you probably need to buy it or find a local place that has one to lend.

Or a very large adjustable cresent wrench will do if i'm not mistaken.  The problem is it's like a 2'' across bolt...but I could be mistaken.

Yep, this is a good post on removing the fan. I hope my wrench is big enough! I'll give it a try in the morning.

Yah if you dont have the tools advanced auto or other auto parts stores might have one you can use.

I used **what else**? water pump pliers, lol. Once the nut breaks loose it spins right off. At least mine did.

the nut on my fan was a 36mm and made one myself out of steel otherwise some parts stores have a loan-a-tool policy and ask for the clutch fan assembly wrenches
