i have a problem with my gas gauge on my 93 blazer s-10....it's moving really slowly and I know i don't have THAT good of gas mileage...it stayed on full for a long time and then after a day it moved down to a quarter and then after another day or so it moved to a half but then it moved back up a little bit recently. I have no idea what is wrong with it, and I don't know how much gas i have in my car because it's not reading accurately...HELP!!

well if it's really not reading accuratly, then the only thing it could really be is the fuel level sensor.

I have the same problem with my 93 Blazer...I think the gauges must be crappy in them...I just go by my trip meter and I know when I should be getting gas.

Unfortunately, it seems like a common GM complaint in various forms and fashions. I too have problems with my fuel level gauge. Not sure yet, but I believe it is either a faulty ground, a bad connection, or a bad sensor. BOY I HOPE IT'S JUST A LOOSE WIRE. I'll let you all know what I find out.

I got the same problem as well... The gas level indicator works quite good but the control panel frequently show the "CHECK GAUGES" thing and I had no idea what it was referred to until I read this thread.
Thanks you all then.

Blazin9: Take the face off the instrument panel and jiggle the guage set. Mine did the same as yours and it is just a bad connection.
