New poster here.  I figured I'd try this in the hope that someone has encountered a similiar problem.

For the last 3 months, the electrical system in my S15 blazer has been going haywire.

To date, the starter and the ignition switch and a total of close to $800 has been sunk into "fixing" the problem to no avail.  I had a wire literally catch on fire after the car was serviced; thankfully the hood was open and I had water readily available.

When I turn the key, the lights fade (similiar to the battery being low on juice) and there is no crank.  I had the battery tested thinking it was bad, and it came back as a good battery and it also had a good charge upon the intial testing ... so the battery is not the issue.  I replaced the battery terminals too and that wasn't the issue either, although the problem "disappeared" for about 10 days after I replaced the terminals.

This happens when the car has been shut off for 1 minute or 12 hrs.  I had it happen to me last night, and after a few tries (10 or 12 turns of the key), I finally got a partial crank.  The next turn, it started.

I drove it today and haven't gotten it to start since.

I am at my wits end here.  Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!  And thanks in advance
