I have very bright halogen H-4s ( 80 watts low / 130 watts high ) in my blazer and while perusing a parts catalog I came across a wiring upgrade for after-market headlights. It said that bulbs that draw more than stock power can burn out the exsisting wiring and the light switch, is this true? It also mentioned that the lights aren't as bright as they could be due to the under-sized wires. The kit includes relays to draw the power straight from the battery verses drawing it from the light switch. Is this something I should be interested in doing?

Yes you can burn up the stock wiring, yes the lights might not be as bright as they could.  Take a dmm and read the voltage at the batt with the car running.  Also read the voltage at the headlight plug (disconnect the light).  I will be upgrading my wiring by making my own harness eventually.  So yes it is a good idea to get that wiring upgrade.
