You guys kill me that won't buy a $20 chiltons, hell you can get them off ebay for under $10 shipped if you look. You can go to autozone.com, enter in your trucks info, then look at the repair info. Its about the same as whats in a haynes book (which sucks) but its free.

neo71665 I have a chilton and a haynes and a subscription to ALLDATADIY for the truck but they all tell you you haev to remove the dash and then don't get specific on how to do that. I come here for advice from guys who have already done it and found short cuts to make it easier, because frankly I'd rather be driving it than spending extra time doing something the hard way. I've also heard it said a wise man learns from others mistakes.

I did not remove the dash.... I just pulled the plastic cover inside the truck, pulled the screws that hold the straps in place, yanked the HC, assembly was reverse of removal. Took about 2 hours or so.
