Hey all, new to the forums, looking to get a blazer as soon as my current vehicle sells, my father in law had a 2000 blazer 4DR / 4WD that he bought new in 2000, he ended up trading that in for a 2003 2500HD 4DR silverado in late 2002, due to an oil leak the dealer wouldn't fix, ended up being too much of a hassle. Anyways, him and I both loved the blazer, so i'm planning on getting a 2000-2001 due to the bad re-sale value that I can gladly take advantage of ( I hope ), i'll have about $8,000 cash, and i'm hoping to find one with under 75k on it, what do ya all think?

Welcome! Hope you can get a nice blazer. I got my 2003 with 41XXX miles on it for 7700. Its a 2 door/2WD though.

Thanks a lot for the replys all! Can't wait, I never ended up seeing how durable the 4.3 vortec was, only saw it go to about 30k miles, what does everyone think, generally, about how durable and long-lasting this motor is? Now obviously, i'll try to find one that looks like it's been well taken care of, but you never know! But i'll be doing regular maintinence, all fluid changes, etc, but i'm no car genius by any means!

How safe would it be to buy one with 85k~ that looks like it'd been pretty well taken care of, because i'm going to need this vehicle as my DD for years to come!

If you find one you like, see if the owner has kept the service records.
I just bought a '90 full size with lower than average milage on it, the interior is almost perfect and the truck looks like it's never been off road. I also took it to the dealer and had a full inspection done on it before I bought it. I look at an inspection as cheap insurance.
