I figured I make the traditional first post in here. Give anyone who cares a little background. I have an 88 K5 I picked up 2 years ago, I haven't driven it much. I bought it because I have always wanted one and it will tow my race car to and from the track etc. I sheared a UV while messing around in the desert, so it sat until basically 3 months ago. I ended up tossing a rod on my 240sx, which was my drag car and daily driver combo...STUPID. So now I'm driving the K5 around...great gas mileage...lol. I'm a turbo guy by nature, so look for a writeup on a DIY turbo build. I don't offroad to much, well not what I consider real offroading, just the occasional spirited run through the sand out here in AZ. Which allows me to be happy with a simple set of 33 12.50's from BFG.

I'll be reading and posting alot here in the near future, I'm an inline DOHC guy, so you'll have to excuse the noobish questions I'm sure I'll have about the valvetrain and whatnot. Until then....

Thankyou for the welcome...I've been wanting to clean up the K5 for a long time now. She deserves better treatment then she's receieved to date

Welcome to the forum WD. Throw a couple of turbos on that V8 and there's no lookin' back.

**note..put a little black tape over the fuel guage and just stop at every gas station...

I'm actually surprised at the gas mileage it does get. It seems better then I would have figured...IF...I stay out of the throttle. But I have a fairly heavy foot and Tucson has 1000 stop lights
