well, i didnt get the loan because banks are stupid. so i found a '93 blazer i bought outright. 93 blazer 4x4 with electronic dash, 4.3L, red, with spare tire rack on the back. big plans ahead, should be rather fun. Pix are comming.

Awe sorry about the loan, i know what you mean though. i had trouble with a loan for my truck that I have now. So i just went and got a personal loan, paid the truck off in one shot and now I just have basic liability and a very small loan payment. I think it was better this way, now the bank doesnt own my truck, and there are no problems with basic insurance.
lots of luck with the truck. :)

That does suck...I know what it's like...they'd give you a loan for a brand new vehicle probably, but a 97 is worthless to them so they don't bother.
I think you'll be happy with the 93. I have a 93 S-10 4.3 4dr and it's never let me down. I like the older ones...and parts are super cheap!

i noticed that. its a 4dr as well. im thinking of a 2" lift so i can use my 17" rims and some nice beefy truck tires. i am going to redo the paint black with metal flake and the rims silver. some dual exhaust out the back - 2" back on each side, maybe 2.5" - and the massive system i am keeping a lil secretive at the moment. everything a person needs to play on and off road. how hot would that be?

well, i got the truck from a friend that gave me half price from blue book. so i payed $1250. the reason the enigine is from a 91 is because the old 4.3 blew in this or something but he put a 4.3 from a 91 that only has 75k miles on it. plus new belts and fuel pump.

well then im guessing as long as you take good care of it, it should be a good running truck. :)

I'm surprised about the engine replacement. Vortecs are usually indestructible. Must've been a lemon. Once my ol' Blazer finally rusts itself to death we plan on putting the engine in my girlfriend's Jeep since she's only got a 2.8L 4 banger in it.
Your ideas sound great. I've always liked black vehicles...just a pain to keep clean!

all my vehicles have been dark. but the hardest is white rims. i had 17" 7 spoke white rims on my stratus and they got so dirty. i will be reusing the three rims i have left for the truck tires, and i will just order a forth (the original forth one kinda slit in half when i hit a gaurd rail going 60 mph to total my car. i walked away with a broken foot. thats all. after hitting a gaurd rail at 60 and ramping and destroying the car - i got a broken foot.

i really am lucky thats all that happened. if i ever get the pics of the car on here you will see. The frame bent, floor buckled, ect. i didnt get scraped up or nothing. just a broken foot from the impact of the landing.
