I don't remember what our cut off cold temp was. I don't remember not going to school ever because of cold...only too much snow.

Well the temp here in NJ has been 10 degrees to 25 degrees, but with the wind chill its at 5 degrees. Can't compare to other areas, but after being used to 45-55 degree weather most of the winter people herer are starting to over react.

Ya, we always went to school......-45....ok, but they wouldnt let us outside for recess, or lunch......No school bus for me.....was about 5 blocks to school, just enough time to lose feeling over 95% of ur body

I don't think they ever stopped us from going inside... But when it was that cold out, they actually let us stay inside if we wanted to.

about the only time we got out of school whas for ice...rarely snow...like you canadian's...when you live in a state that is known for lots and lots of  snow...it has to be really impressive to get out of school...I think last year there was only one "snow day" up north where I was living....and that's because we got over 24 inches of snow...and they couldn't keep the roads clear..and they use large fron end loaders with a scoop the size of a school bus..not to mention a special "snow bank cut down" attachment...they have to go over the snowbanks with a giant snow blower thing...so you can see..they shut down the schools in our area on monday due to the cold weather..-12..-35 degrees F. but the real reason is because after the huge snow storm/blizzard we had on saturday...one 70 car pile up..a couple smaller ones (like 20) and it had been so cold the ice wouldn't melt the streets enough to make them drivable....they finally got smart and started spreading sand....I LOVE winter!!! oh gosh more snow!!!

Eh its around 17 degrees here... not as bad as some.  we had a patch of snow yesterday and theres salt EVERYWHERE now!!  I have my friends 2006 Monte Carlo right now because he's trying to figure out whats wrong with the ABS.  It keeps kicking in every time you stop the truck...literally EVERY time.  Very annoying.  So I have his gunmetal grey Monte and it looks like a WHITE Monte now.  I'm going to wash it before I return it, only because I wouldnt want to get my car back like that!
