hey guys, i just installed my new k&n fipk over the weekend. my buddy wants to take me out on the trails next weekend for some snowing/mudding. just wondering if anyone has ever had any problems with hydrolocking...could be some decent water out there

my cai is pretty well protected from any splashing by the skidplates up front and the gap guards along the sides...could i do anything to better protect it?

thanks!

K&N sells a filter cover that is supposed to bolck out water but still let in the air.

I think you will be fine when going out offroading!! If you still have your wheel wells in and all other skid plates and such it will be fine!!

Plus you need to submerge your truck to effect that CAI.

The only way to do it better would be to go to a snorkle setup.  Just don't go into water that is over your headlights!  LOL

thanks for the tips guys...with that drycharger cover, will that affect airflow? throwing a sock over my filter makes me think it will kill the benefits of having the cai...

and pics will be up in a few hours, as soon as i get off shift...seriously, why work? oooo, right, to pay for truck parts!

i run a pre filter as described on my quad with a k+n filter and it is not noticeable.
