Lifting 2001 gmc jimmy

I''m lookin into something like this but i have heard this really wears on your front end. I really dont know where to start so any help or advise on a lift is appriciated. thanks Tyler

I had all my questions about lifting answered without even posting, it was great 

ive looked through many. no i dint look through them all but seem like they were related directly to a certain lift. not what im asking.

I know this has been covered before, but...

That lift specifically only adds the benefit of correcting the steering upright angle when going to 2" lift via the torsion bars.  This does little to correct the ball joint angle (what destroys ball joints) nor does it do anything to address harsh angles in the front driveshafts.

You can somewhat safely lift the front 1.5" with just a crank on the torsion bar bolts.  If your torsion bars have gotten weak, then the keys may help you go further, but if you go all the way to 2", you might not like the outcome (both ride quality and repairs).

What other ways are out there to lift the front? i see i could do an add a leaf or block lift in the rear. any imput on those

And did you mean with your last post that that 2" lift is or is not the way to go?

Shackles in the rear would be the cheapest way to lift it, you can go up 2" with those and it won''t sacrifice ride quality, and you can even make your own http://www.blazerforum.com/m_99354/tm.htm

There are only a couple ways to do the front end on these trucks.  Pretty much every 4x4 blazer you see lifted is either body lifted, or t-bar cranked.  You''ll be fine as long as you don''t max it out, and as long as you keep an eye on the front end parts.  Keep them lubed with every oil change, and watch your CV boots.

And adding blocks to the rear would actually lower the back end, as the leaf springs go under the axle.  You can lift with blocks after you do a spring over axle conversion, but that flip alone gives you 5'''' of lift.  Adding blocks only goes higher.
