I just about **** myself. I was pissed I thought that dumb ass fed up the whole place. Oh well, it was only 3 units. On my side it sticks but in my unit but it doesnt. Thank god it wasnt the entire building. But if it would have been I do have renters insurance when you live in a building that depends on other people you can go without it.
I am really seriously thinking about a house now.

Wow that sucks! Looks like it was confined to a room & contents which is good for the rest of the occupants! Where is your apartment in relation to that one?

It totaled the bottom unit at had some damage to the two 2nd floor units. Mine is almost exactly diagnolar(spelling I know) on the clear other side and second floor.

Yeah wow, glad that wasn't your place and that no one was injured. I have worried about that at times with people living in the dorms being idiots at school (or drunk). Now I am in an apartment complex and have thought about what would happen if a fire started. It would suck if I was in the building too, since I live on the 3rd floor, not to mention loosing all the stuff (and school data on the computer, that would take a while to replace).
Looks like some nice apartments too, which I had a balcony.

wow that really sucks. glad that u didnt get much damage and everyone is ok! ya i live at home still w/ the parents so i dont really have to worry bout that much. but i have thought what if there was a fire and only important things i would really need would be my labtop, ipod, and cell phone. but all 3 r usually w/ me so if i was at home and a fire happend i would just grab those and get out.

Wow!!!! Glad to hear your unit wasn't affected. Def time for a house but the housing market blows..

Housing market is ok for buying since the prices are so low. It's securing a loan that's tough because banks are cutting back on who they're lending to now. From what I know of BLK85, I don't think that should be a problem.

As far as computer data, Im thinking about setting up some type of offsite storage to back some stuff up to, just incase something like this were to happen.

Still pretty good here, would like to wait longer to wait for it to slump a little bit. But if it were like the rest of the country that only means buyers market.

Im not worried about getting a loan. I make decent money, can afford a house, and have great credit. Just need the 20% down to eliminate Mortage insurance.

Why I won't live in a townhouse/apartment/Condo. If my house burns down I would rather no it was no one's fault but my own.

I know. There was another one locally and it burned the whole place down.
If anyone lives in an apartment please get renter inusrance. Its not that expensive, mine is 95 a year for 40k of coverage. Thats less than $10 a month, if you cant afford that then WOW!!!
