DOES ANYONE HAVE AN OPINION ON WHICH MOTOR WOULD BE BETTER TO RUN WITH?

Well, considering the work required to put a '96+ motor into the '95 would be very daunting task...  Unless you were to use only the long block and placing the intake and exhaust from the '95 onto the '01 motor, it would be a very difficult task to make the SCFI motor work in a CPI equiped vehicle.  And I can't be sure that the '95 lower intake will bolt up to the '96+ head/block, but I also do not think that they changed anything between the years.

If you were to go this route, all sensors would need to be swapped over as well.  As far as the bottom end goes, they should be fairly close, if not exactly the same.  But its hard to tell as manufacturing changes go...  Both should have the balance shaft, but the '01 may have better flowing heads.  The sequential central port injection (SCFI) is superior to the central port injection (CPI) system in that it has truely sequential activation of its 6 electronic injectors which feed pressure actuated poppet nozzles.  The CPI system has 1 single batch fired electronic injectors feeding 6 pressure actuated poppet nozzles.  The CPI motors do tend to have more fuel system issues than the SCFI motor, but like I said, it would be a real pain to switch over to the newer engine control system.

Hope this helps...  Oh and please try to be a little more patient before yelling at us.  The advice you receive here is free, the least you could do is wait a bit longer than 1 day for it.
