I lol'd at that...
I like my local Jiffy Lube for a quick oil change, it's quick and easy, and I don't have to worry about proper disposal of the oil. I just check the dipstick before I drive off, and look for leaks after I park

Allright I would have had enough, and by now I would have sued the pants off them and had my blazer over to the dealership on there dollar to have a new motor put in not a rebuilt one or used one a brand new one!!!

In the USA that what I would do too! here in Canada to procede with a civil trial the lawyer wants $2500 up front to start and then will bleed me for two or three years and as I said before the judge will never award more than what I started with.
The only thing to fall back on is the stores reputation, they hate public demonstration and when I go to pick up my car things better be square!

The Canadian Tire in my city dropped a vehicle on another one, lol.
They had it parked under one under one that was on a hoist, and the hoist let go.

un freaking beliveable !
After 29 days CT phoned me and told me my car was ready, this was Saturday night 15 mins before the store closed, I told them I would pick it up in the morning. On Sunday morning I went there and the counter attendent gave me the keys "What all did they do to my car "I asked and he replied the service dept. is closed on Sundays and if I wanted to talk to the manager I would have to come back tomorrow, when I got the car home the motor looked clean but I couldn't see any new gaskets and became suspicius. the next day I went back and the new manager told me the store had been sold and after a failed attempt at rebuilding my motor they (the old manager)sent it out to have used engine installed. The new guy agrees with me and wants to have a rebuilt motor installed at the previous owners expense. I told him the sign outside still says Canadian tire and I don't care who owns what, "I want a new motor installed". I will update this as it happens

I would tell them to pay for the Chevy dealership to install a brand new engine in your truck. They are responsible for the damages caused and are obliged tp fox it. Don't take any of that B.S from them.

what what what, how could you go 29 days without razing them I would have been on thier a$$ every 3 days. Hope everything works out for you....
Fight it... canadian tire is a franchise, not owned by one person, so needless to say it's the responsibility of the chain to give you the customer service that you expect (demand)

I allready said what should be done but, after what you said about the judge and all that I woulda passed on that route! As for plan B I woulda went in there demanding the world on a silver platter right then in there, just to get it done properly and the right way!! Hence this is why I don't let anyone work on my blaze except me and me alone, I know what im doing and I can't trust anyone else out there because of stuff like this!!!

omg call a lawyer dont sign any papers and sue the holy living @$%$# out of them... i mean they tried to scam you. simple as that. at the minimum you can get a new engine and then you can also get punitive damages... i mean that is some serious grade a horse !@#$# if some place did that to me id end up in prison.... again....
of course im american... go figure.. it didnt realize you where in canda till i read the rest of the forum... but you should really really push for a new engine. becuase you never know what your getting with a used one. i could have less miles but it could have been abused badly.
and with a new one you get a warantee.

Its over!
I faxed all the phone conversations I had with the Manager to CT customer relations at the head office after a review they called me and told the old manager would phone that evening, I waited, no phone call. The next morning I phoned them back and told them I hadn't got a phone call, he told me I would recieve a call back within the hour and sure enough I got a call from the manager informing me they were not going to rebuild my engine but they were willing to buy the car outright, I always had a figure in mind in case this happened: Retail plus 25%, without hestation he accepted the price and said I could go the next day and pick up my check. In the end for the price I got I really couldn't be happier, the Candaintire corp. came through for me in the end.
There is a big indoor car sale on, I think I will go over and kick some tires!
