yes, let off the gas till you've regained control, then punch it again!!!!!

When I try and fishtail around a corner I usually end up doing a full 360 and end up in the opposite lane, facing the opposite way.......it really does take some practice, alot less traction on ice, rather than just water tho........

-_-

dont be trying to drift ur blazer.

I'm the only on with that skill. And yes I've done it (legit drift) countersteered and brough it back 3 times back and forth. Also drove completely sideways down a main road one night and pulled it back

me=skilled

ya....I only do it on abandond streets........Only thing im worried about hitting is 20 foot high christmas trees (not palms!!!) Its not that I've never made a good fishtail, I have a bad habit of oversteer, but practice makes perfect

but I think ice is harder than wet pavement....Jon, we need a video of this sideways driving you do, is your an auto?

Yep it's an auto :( but still kick this bish out like nothing.... with a big ass sub box in the back.

But yea i need to get my mustang friend on here. we we're leavin the races and i was goin sideways down the road right infront of him. scared the piss outta him lol.

ALSO I'm not advising ANYBODY to try this. I hang out with car people who drift there cars at comps and I've learned alot from them so I know how to recover. Dont be trying this at all.

well chalk it up to a lesson learned....(I've been saying that a lot lately) as for a loose rear end....try pepto bismuth....ha ha haa ha....like everyone else said...ya just got to practice it...we in the northern climates don't really think about it anymore....you are always sliding...(most times on purpose)...stepping on the accelerator when you are taking a dirt trail fast and slipping (if your are in 4wd) helps with control..unfortunately in slippery conditions...acceleration only makes the problem worse..the easiest way to stop a skid...is steer in the direction you are going..and let the wheel slide in your hands...if you aren't accelerating...it usually regains some control....just try it....figure it out your own way....

and as for Jon....I am not even going to comment on the whole "drift" thing.....whatever....yeah I thought I was the best driver in the world when I was 18

actually....I kind of like it like that.....just smooth the dents out a little maybe......lol

yea trust me--i live in northern (kinda) ontario canada---limited slip diffs just get you into trouble faster---but if you're used to it, then you know what to do----personally i just pedal it a little and steer straight down the road i wanted to be going down--usually straightens it out with a little "creative steering" lol

but you best bet is definetly to let off the gas and steer--oh and stay away from you brakes unless you have to---the rear end tends to come around on these things when you get on the brakes! lol---good old winter parking lot sessions.....

Nah no need to comment.I'm smart when i go about it.

conditions have to be just right.

no traffic except for the car people i know and know when to stay back

When you hang with this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtvzDqTFzAQ

You learn a thing or 2 about drifting lol

Thanks for the lessons everyone lol. Smashing my nose on the wheel was my only injury, no swelling and it doesn't hurt too much right now. The truck was picked up yesterday morning, and is in the Body Shop. They'll be telling me today what they are going to do with the truck. The cop estimated about $5,000 in damages whoa!! The front end on the truck had some dings, dents, and scratches so now that will be all gone . I even bent the passenger side rear wheel and I don't even know how that happened lol. Can't wait to see it all painted and looking nice again.

Thanks,
Jovani

it's a lot of fun in an RX-7, on a closed course of course. It's too hard to be smooth in the Blazer, too much suspension movement.

I doubt your X will be a total loss, but it will be expensive for the insurance company for sure. It depends on how bad the frame is bent, if its just a little they can straigten it back out on a frame table easy.

might have whacked the passenger side rear well on the right curb during one of the slides

c'mon.... a small car for drifting.... I do it in a z71 ext. cab silverado..... locking diff + vortec 327 = fun on wet pavement..... I actually did it to shut up a buddy of mine... he had a 240sx and was talking about the ungodly power (stock)..haha so I got him in the truck and scared the hell outta him.... he tried it in his 240 and definitely hit a telephone pole... at almost exactly the same angle extremeG hit the tree..... he now owns a 2000 blazer 4x4...lol

If I get my Blazer back the next mod will definitely be a 1" drop in the front and a 2" drop in the rear, Better shocks (not sure what brand). Then I will practice sliding around in the rain.
