This question relates to a recent purchase of a 2000 Chevy TrailBlazer V^, 4.3li. It says Trailblazer but it looks like it is on the platform of a S10 Blazer. Someone said that TrailBlazer's, on their new platform did not come out until 2002.
A couple of questions?
What is the difference between a Chevy Blazer, an S10 Blazer, and an 2000 TrailBlazer?
Was this a prototype?
For aftermarket accessories do i look for S10 parts, Blazer(full size?, Sm.?)
Were there different platforms for the S10 vs non S10 Blazer?
What does the S10 mean? ANything important?
Sorry for the dumb questions I just need to know.
Thanks

Back in '95, the 'S10' of the S10 Blazer was dropped, even though the platform was still shared with the S10 pickups. This is primarily due to the fullsize C/K Blazer being discontinued after the '94 model year.
As far as trim packages go... In 1999, GM decided to add a trim package to the Blazer and Jimmy. For the Blazer - the Trailblazer package and for the Jimmy - the Envoy trim package, both packages being the top of the line. The Jimmy also had the Diamond Edition which was between the SLT and Envoy packages. I'm probably going to get the options wrong, but here goes anyway. I believe that most significant addition in these packages was that all Trailblazer packaged Blazers recieved upgraded two tone leather seating with embroidered door panels and head rests. Also a mono-chrome exterior paint scheme and unique alloy wheels complete the package. Blazer's also recieved a ground effects molding on the lower rocker panel to smooth out the look a bit more.
Much in the same manner, the Envoy packaged Jimmy recieved two tone embroidered leather as well as wood trim, auto-leveling suspension, high-intensity headlights and the OnStar system.
In 2000, the Bravada also had the Platinum Edition with much the same options standard and available as the 2001 Blazer/Jimmy special editions. All of the Platinum Edition Bravada's recieved two tone exterior paint with the lower color being, what else, Platinum.
Also in 2000, both the Blazer and Jimmy dropped their base level models.
I could go on, but I think I answered your questions. Have fun with it!

Thanks for the quick response!!!
One more question?
When looking for accessories and addon's, do i look for 2000 Blazer, 2000 S10 Blazer, or 2000 Trailblazer?
Some sites dont recognize 2000 trailblazer(probably becuase it was a trim level, and not a new line, Right?)
Some sites also give me the option of Fullsize blazer? vs S10, any thoughts.

whoops - sorry about that... Missed a few questions.
As far as aftermarket equipment, so long as you get the year right, it should be 'Blazer' specific. If it's a 2000 Blazer, there were no other Blazer models (aside from the 'ZR2' RPO code). The fact is that these blazers are still s-series vehicles and share next to nothing with the full size blazers (I say 'next to nothing' because things like lug nuts and other small hardware are obviously shared with some of our larger brethren). As far as major suspension components go, they are similar in design, but use different components.
Anyway, your truck is a 2000 Blazer 4 door with the 'Trailblazer' package. That and your drivetrain configuration (ex. 4.3L v6 / 4wd) should net you what you are looking for.

The Trailblazer/Envoy line end in 2010. clicky.
Hopefully something nice will follow its demise.
And that pertained to this discussion how? LOL
We were talking about the trim packaged offered on the 2nd gen s-series Blazer platform, not on the new Trailblazer/Envoy/Bravada platform...
