New here, From Omaha, Ne. Have 87 K5 personal vehicle, and 89 K5 work truck.    Plans for the 87 include a 4" suspension lift, Nerf bars, and 33" Buckshot Mudders.

Just bought the 87 this morning. Ran great on the nearly one hundred mile drive home. It's got a couple small issues I need too take care of, but for a twenty year old truck, it's in great shape. I would like too swap the grill/headlights from a 89 to 91 Jimmy with out any badges for a newer look. Just like those better.

Thanks. The 89 is a pile. But it's a working truck, I plowed snow with it this last season. It's a company truck. Boss man knows I'm a fan of the K5, and a Chevy guy so I got the 89 K5. All our other trucks are Fords. I got the K5 fever again, so did the internet search for one close. All the ones in town are either rusted out hunks, or way over priced. I found the 87 on the internet. Was a hour and a half away. Yesterday I went out and checked it out, test drive, ...ect. This morning I went and bought it. I need too replace pass side mirror, and the breaks squeak when driving, but it stops fine. Also need too rewire the stereo, but thats all that I've found wrong with it so far.

I've been a fan of the full size Blazer for quite a few years. My first Blazer was a 72. Miss that one the most.

The 87 I just bought makes my 8th full size Blazer so far. This one will get a 3" - 4" lift. Either BDS or Tuff Country springs (Maybe Deaver)(3 inch) up front, and the 4" ORD Shackle Flip out back. 3/4 ton axles and a set of 33" Ground Hawg's.. I must be getting old, I don't want too go as wild as I did when I was younger. I'll leave the engine stock, well, maybe a set of Thorley Tri-Y headers and a 2.25" to 2.5" exhaust system. I'd like too swap in the grill/headlights from a 89 to 91 Jimmy just because I like that look.  Part of me wants a big stereo system for the 87. But that's more money I really shouldn't spend, LOL. I am planning on having a body shop take care of what little rust this truck has. Get it before it can get bad. It's a nice truck, runs and handles quite nicely. Much better then you'd expect from a 20 year old truck.
