Hey whats up guys, this weekend I traded my baby in 2000 GTI VR6 for a 2002 Chevy Blazer 4x4 it was a very sad day and i wasn't to thrilled about it but thhis truck is realy starting to grow on me everyday i like her more and more. I will miss my GTI alot just becuase there is nothing like a 350 hp VR6 throwing you in your seat, but i did some wheelin yestarday and it was a good time and made me forget about the GTI for a little bit. I got it pretty stuck in 2wd had the back wheels all the way barried in some swamp i found got out and looked at it for a bit then put her in four wheel and it walked right out of it like it was nothing lol. Just seeing if there are alot of things i should look out for with the blazer. I am making the dealership i got it from replace the front belt on the motor becuase its all kinds of cracked and im making them go over the ball joints and replace if needed, any other sugestions, she only has 55,000 miles so there shouldn't be to terribly much that they need to go over but i figured you guys may have a few pointers to make sure is gone over when i bring it to them. Forums seem to be pretty active no were nears my VW forums but hey mabye we can get some more people comin on and talkin i know ill be on everyday i love car forums. Peace for now let me know what you guys think!

Welcome to the site. My girlfriend went from a 98 Probe GT to an 89 Jeep YJ, so she misses the speed now and again. Now that she's got the 98 TJ though, it's a little easier to forget about all that HP she sold, especially when the Jeep's covered in mud!
You're off to a good start checking on the ball joints. I'd keep an eye on them constantly and keep 'em greased from now on as well.

Nice quick replay gotta love that. Kinda funny I have alos owned some Probe GT's one was a 1989 turbo running 14 PSI and the other was a 1993 2nd generation V6. They were fun but nothing like a supercharged VR6, the 2nd gen did handle very nicely though. I think i got a decent deal on the Blazer its a 2002 with 50k i paid no money out of pocket they paid taxes, title, registration, and put brand new tires on it, tommarow they are replacing the serpintine belt and checking out the ball joints. I paid $9995 for her looked at a few others but this was by far the best deal. And belive me i will have pics up soon. I have a nice 6 Mega Pixel Digi for that, i should have took some of her when she was clean on moday when i got the keys but i just had to go get her dirty, lol even though the dirt blends right in with the color it is puter lily or somthin like that. Everything else seems very solid very solid 4x4 works like a dream so far, they said it been well maintained so will see how she is. hehe there was a little mary jane in the back console that i found so i dunno lol.
One thing i wanted to ask was from what i understand that there are multiple suspension packages that you can get on a Blazer or is it just the ZR2 that gets it stock from the company and how do you tell what you have stock. I was just wondering im gonna put new shocks on it eventually, i found some of those rancho's i think there 10 way adjustable for 320 a set so i might try those out, not trying to lift it becuase it still is the family truck but some good shocks would be nice, lol even though the stocks are bilsteins which is a very good name.

For a complete list of what options your truck came with stock, take a look at the RPO list in the glove box. By searching the site for 'RPO', you should find a few posts with links to varios different RPO decoders.
Here is one such thread:

No ****! I'm an engineer for Goulds in the Auburn plant! I really haven't been offroading with my Brav, but I'm sure we could make some things work down back of my dad's. Atleast get muddy (and have a tractor handy to pull us out).
