Whats up everyone. New to the site just bought me a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4.3L LT 4x4 with the towing package. I think I got a good deal on it. I paid $5400 90K miles. Its got 2 dings and thats it! I love it. We just had a big snowstorm in KC and I was just amazed at how this thing did in the snow/ice...keep in mind this is my 1st 4wd vehicle. I had to get me somthing for a daily driver/ winter car and park my LS1 Trans Am till spring. I just seafoamed her today wasnt to nasty. What are some other maintenance things I could do on this Blazer for peace of mind? Im going to do the trans fluid/filter in a couple days. Also are there any free mods you can do to these like the LS1 cars? Would this thing pull a small uhaul trailor loaded with no problems? What kinda things can they pull with no problems. Here are some pics I took a couple days ago the ice started to come down.

Looks great! Welcome!

As far as free mods... Not really. I cut my deflector off in the throttle body about 8 months ago and I am seeing some disturbing signs on the spark plugs... Lets just say that there is a rich/lean imbalance in the engine without the deflector. I have another TB hiding somewhere that I am going to swap back on, then try to find a Vortec 5.7L TB to try as well (same TB, same bore, but 1/2 the deflector).

When you do the trans, do yourself a favor and add a drain plug to the pan. Due to the closed nature of a transmission, if the filter is clogged, chances are the transmission isn't very healthy either. A drain and refill every 8-10k miles will keep the transmission clean and healthy for a lifetime. One other thing on the transmission, they are known for reaction sun gear problems. Try not to put power to it in reverse until it actually engages. This can cause a failure.

Good luck! And nice lookin' TA in the background of a few of those shots!!!
