well i am in need of a car and browsing through the local ads i found a 1995 chevy blazer 2wd. it has the 4.3 v6 engine, auto tranny, but almost 200k miles on it. i have been doing a little bit of research and found that oil lines breaking are a major problem for a lot of people. do you think this blazer would be a good buy for a teenager who only drives 3-4k miles a year?

should be fine. if anything does mess up, you can buy parts for them in a grocery store. (not really, but you know what i'm getting at)

yeah, it should be fine for 3-4,000 miles per year, just change all the fluids out when you get it so you know how long theyve been in there
like the previous post, you can find parts for Blazers just about anywhere, since the S-10 pickup has a lot of identical parts to the Blazer, and the GMC S-Series vehicles. The oil cooler lines tend to leak, not really break. It's real common with Blazers that have the remote oil filter.
If you end up buying this Blazer, if it says "Vortec" on a plastic thing on the top, I recommend going to Advance Auto and picking up a "Kleen-Screen" EGR gasket, it has wire mesh to keep carbon deposits from clogging the EGR valve, which is a pain. It's only a $13 gasket, but it saves lots of headaches. you just replace the stock EGR valve gasket with the Kleen-screen, you will need to check the gasket about every 10,000 miles to clean any carbon flakes off. It's mainly 95 Blazers with CPI that could use this gasket, mine has worked out great since I got it.
here's a link to the manufacturer's site...
