Just cleaned up from installing a set of RS 5000 shocks on my 2001 4wd. The install was pretty easy. They only "speciality" tool I needed was a 10" ratchet extension to reach the rear upper bolts. I spent more time diging in the shop for that than it took to put them on. There is very limited room up front so I removed the front wheels. The front shocks also have to be installed with the rod down and the boot will not fit so don't even bother ( I tried anyway ). The rear was much easier just because there was more room. I put the rear on jackstands to remove the pressure on the shocks; this made removing the bolts a breeze. I also droped the spare tire (4dr) to make a large hole to sit in while working, but this is not necessary. Now for the good stuff. Just for comparison I removed the original shocks with 95k miles on them so they were pretty shot. The new ride is much better, a little more firm but it is a 4x4. The previous body roll when cornering is now 60% better and nose dive when braking hard is 80% better. I am well pleased with the new ride quality. There are many great shocks out there, but I will give these a thumbs up.
