new s10?

i found this, this afternoon. has anyone else heard of the new third gen s10?

Unfortunately, there's no date on the article.  It seems like pre-Colorado/Canyon press to me.  Something just doesn't seem right...they were using the 2001 Avalanche as a comparison source.  Don't know, seems old to me.

Edit- Didn't spell Canyon right - sorry I'm a stickler for these types of things.

That's got to be back before the introduction of the Colorado...  No dates on the article to speak of so I can't tell.

Yeah I saw that one in a magazine before the Canyon/Colorado was released. It was basically a miniature Avalanche.

I went searching for a possible 3rd gen S10, didn't find anything but I did find a concept for a Colorado Xtreme,
 take a look:

ive seen the colorado xtreme around town. im glad they didnt make that s10 thing it doesnt look as good as the canyon/colorado's do.

Are you sure?  The xtreme package has not been released yet, nor has the SS according to the Chevrolet website.
 
 

at least i think so. it was at my school. unless he just put an xtreme emblem on it. i might be mistaken.

Colorados are horid in my opinion. The 3.5 doesn't deliver nor does it do well on gas. They need to bring back the S-10's they sound alot more.

Euro, Don't they make a diff package for the colorado now? I have seen some lower ones in town that look diff then other ones, jw

They do make a xtreme package now. its 2500 more and only on the YC3 Models.

I'd buy it, if they would get rid of that curvy avalanche looking thing in the bed. I'd buy a Colorado X too!

There's a girl in my shop who's husband had a white four door one. I hadn't even heard they were making Xtreme Colo's. Looked good though, that was.....wow, about 7 months ago. Only one I've ever seen.

I dont like it it all, then again, im not a fan of the Colorado either.

I have seen colorado extreme's at the local chevy dealership in my area.  And that was months ago.  They have been around for a while. 

I like S-10's better, but don't mind the Colorado's, especially with the Xtreme package. I like lifted trucks, but there's just something about lowered ones that gets me.

I dont like the enigne GM stuck in the Colorado.
I do like the 3rd gen articale and wish they would have stuck with the 4.3 and made the V8 an option, then I owuld buy a Colorado. Or at least an SUV version of it, and not that thing they call a TrailBlazer. I just hate those things.

The Xtreme package came out for the Colorado in the 2nd or 3rd year of production... As an upgrade to the ZQ8 package. It has fancy Xtreme badges and 18" rims vs. the 17" of the ZQ8 package.
Though, I'm very disappointed to see that you can no longer get the 5 speed manual with the 5 cylinder... The 3.7 should have a little more oomph to it... Almost as much torque as the 4.3 and a lot more HP... Hopefully the gas mileage goes up with the power boost, lol

i wonder how old that is... that would be sweet if they came back!

I'm not crazy about the look of the Canyon Xtreme... I cant put my finger on it but something doesnt give it that "attitude" look that anything "Xtreme" should have.

I have to agree with you on that, the word "Xtreme" gets thrown around way too much. I think mine is too tame to seriously have the name, Xtremes should be modern Typhoons.

Well, they did bring back a turbo 4 banger, which I think the last we saw of that was in the old Sunbirds...

Sorry, I was wrong about the Xtreme, it was only the SS they have not released yet.  Just goes to show how reliable the Chevy website is.
