get yourself a box calculator program like winIsd or bass box pro, or go to rockfordfosgate.com or reaudio.com and use their box maker. Then put in the specs for the JL subs, including recommended airspace, thenadjust to fit in your truck

3/4" MDF is what you should use. Birch actually has better acoustical properties but costs around $40-50 a sheet, and can be more difficult to work with...
This is a Decent box calculator for beginners. WinISD and Bass Box Pro are much better but they can be very confusing if you are not educated on speaker parameters and box building...

Give me the model of your subs and I will fill them out for you. I assume you are at 37" wide and 17" high...
I havent done a 4door in a while but if I recall they are the same dimensions as the 2door with the exception of depth, can anyone verify this?

JL is most definately not the best out there. There are a boatload of other companies that have better products at much better prices. Just off the top of my head: RE, TC, DD, DC, Fi, and a few others...
