Hey everyone,
I have a '00 Blazer LS. It's 2WD and a 4-door. It's bone stock, but well taken care of. I just picked it up this past summer and love it. The only things I've done to it are put on a bug shield and de-badge it. I'm not really looking to be truck of the month, but would like to learn more about the kinds of things you've done to your own trucks.
Perhaps someone can tell me what that slot thingy is in the back cargo area. There isn't a clip that runs to it or anything and the mechanics down at my local Chevy dealer didn't have a clue. They just said that all of the Blazers with that body style had the same slot. Nothing goes in it. That couldn't be right, could it?

Is it on the passenger side? If so, then it is the slot for the cargo area cover. A retractable cover was optional, but I do believe that all of the interior panels on the passenger side of 4door blazers (and variants) had this slot. If your truck did not come equiped with this option, the cover for the jack compartment should be able to be swapped out for the optional cargo cover.
Oh and Welcome!!

Welcome to the forum.
My thoughts on the slot are the same as swartlkk...retractable cargo cover.

why would you need a cargo cover in a covered vehicle? just wondering...I'll have to check out my dirty girl and see if there's something there....

It's more to keep prying eyes from looking in and seeing what may be in the back of your truck. Other reasons would be as a sunblocker for sun sensitive items in the back.
In the summer I use it to keep my fire gear a bit cooler as well as keep the sun from fading it. I have a gear bag, but I tend to leave it all spread out in the back to make it easier to get it all on.

welcome to the forum the slot is for a rear cover that was optional, i have a 4dr lt with the cover. it's great for concealing items you don't want people to see, ie: subs, amps, cds whatever.

Is that only on the 4 doors? Mine is 2 door and I have the same slots for the cover, and where would you pic this cover up? I'd love to hide my subs and all with it.
