Newish user, need electrical help!!!

I have an '84 K5 (full size) Blazer and am having a couple of problems.

First, when I open the door (turning on the courtesy light), the clock stops. When I push in the cigarette lighter, the clock stops and the courtesy light glows. The radio tries to power up and down, and the courtesy light glows in rhythm. I assume I have a ground problem, but don't know where to look.

Second, when replacing the power window switch in the passenger door, I noticed there are two heavy gauge wires (one white and one black) that have wire nuts and smaller wires attached. The smaller wires are just hanging free (but don't seem to be grounding and not causing the problem above).

I'd appreciate any and all help. I have a Haynes manual but the wiring diagram does not address power window wiring.
