PARTS NIGHTMARE

It is going on 3 weeks that my truck is ripped apart with no wheels and still no BODYLIFT! I have had nothing but troubles with the wrong kit sent from P.A. and people selling wheels and not knowing what lug pattern they are. The way its looking I am going to have to stay with stock wheels and continue to wait on P.A. to send me the right kit. Does anyone think that I am going to have rubbing issues on the frame now that I am keeping stock backspacing?

I think keeping the stock backspacing is better
Im almost positive if you go with 4" BS you might have rubbing issues on the fender

You will only rub at full lock, at least that is when i rub the frame with my 31 in tires.

I have seen so many guys do the same thing that I am doing and they are running 33's with some trimming. I figured that if they can run 33x12.5s with trimming, then I should be able to run 31x10.5s with no problems.

Even the ZR2's have to do a fair amount of trimming for 33" tires...
You can get 33x9.5" tires from BFG, if I remember right...
They'll rub on the frame with the stock rims, you'll need to space them out a bit.
31s will be a lot easier... You might have to do some slight trimming... But shouldn't do too bad, the body lift should clear that up... You MIGHT need a slight t-bar crank, but nothing extreme...
The 31x10.5s should be good to run on the stock wheels.

If you look at my signature, I am already planning on cranking them. I made shackles to bring the a$$ end up to even it out. (thanks to Blazin_Jason for his help with the specs)

So I don't mean to double post, but I needed to update. I just recieved the shackles from blazin_jason, and that was the final piece to the puzzle that is known as my blazer. It will be all put on and finished tommorrow. FINALY!

No way you got them already? I've been tracking the package and its such crappy tracking that it still only shows that its been accepted at my local post office. I literally like 2 mins before I read this was asking my buddy who works there to see if he can make sure it's not been stuck, and still on the way to you.

Well the story got better. As the guy at the tire shop is begining to mount the first tire onto my rims HE RIPS THE BEAD! So now I am waiting again! I am on the hunt for new 31" a/t. Hopefully I can find a set either new or near new for a decent price.

Let me clarify. I am a marine as most know, and on base we have a place called an auto hobby shop. All it is, is a giant garage that we can go in there and use the lifts and whatever tools we may need. Well they also have a tire section there where guys that work there HAVE TO mount and dismount your tires for you if need be. And being that it was done on base and not in a shop the guy pretty much was just like my bad and thats that. But this works out in the end. I am buying brand new bfg a/t tonight. Those are the tires that I originally wanted, but was going to wait until those other tires wore out. I will keep you all updated.

Got to love those auto hobby shops. I just got out of the Air Force not to long ago and know what you are talking about. Boy do I miss having one. On my base they let me do the tire mounting and balancing myself though. Did it myself no problem.
Still waiting on my truck, you may still yet beat me.

I'm catching up to y'all with the problems..
After putting on my new tires and lifting the T-bars a bit, I went to get an alignment like a responsible vehicle owner, and apparently my favored tire shop can't grip the rim because of the General Grabber's rim protecting guard. So I've been trying to track down a shop that is geared towards trucks, but the only one i've found so far is 4 wheel parts, and they're crazy expensive.
Then, after like 15 miles, I blew my passenger side CV joint. I'm getting my body lift within the next couple of weeks, so hopefully I'll fare a bit better than you guys

Yeah man, I do not recommend 4 wheel parts. They are one of the places that have added to my mightmare and headache.

Hey willjones (or anyone for that matter),
when you do the bodylift, do you think you could take some pics and slap together a "how-to"?
WolfPack
3/12/2008 3:10:51 PM
There's already a how-to with pics on a body lift install. I'll see if I can dig the link up for you.

How much did you crank the bars? Oh and BTW I decided against the BFGs and went with a set of the grabber AT2s. They were 200 cheaper for the set and I also think that its a great looking tire that has a ton of great reviews. I should hopefully finish this fiasco this weekend.

If you're asking me about my bars, I went up 7.5 turns on the drivers side, and 6.5 on the passengers. But with my pretty much dead shocks and the brush guard up front, it only got me a little over an inch. And I still had to trim a bit due to my non-stock rims
